Listen to new RAT BOY track: ‘Lovers Law’

He’s back with yet another banger, again teasing that long awaited album.

2016 has been a huge year for Rat Boy, and 2017 promises even bigger things for the Essex boys.

Off the back of a festival packed summer and their biggest headline tour to date, Jordan Cardy and co return with a new track, which was premiered by Annie Mac on Radio One last night as her Hottest Record. The song is available on iTunes and Soundcloud now.

The song carries a Damon Albarn infused vibe alongside further influence from the roots of the Beastie Boys. The production of the track is very reminiscent of the Beastie Boys (who are a favourite of Jordan’s), with squeaky synth lines and kick in the teeth percussion.

I was lucky enough to see Rat Boy on their final date of their tour in Bristol in September and the track was played then. It’s electrifying and infectiously catchy, the crowd were chanting the lyrics back at their first listen to the song. ‘Stab me in the back’ chimes the memorable chorus.

His live shows are carnage, he hates security and loves evoking mosh pits. Jordan was fined £500 for spray painting on a wall at the venue during his set.
Keep your eyes peeled for Rat Boy, they’re only just getting started…
