The Big Moon drop swooning pop-rock single ‘Formidable’, and reveal their long-awaited debut album ‘Love In The 4th Dimension’

We may have lost the Maccabees this year (*sobs*), but this all-female four-piece have been armed and ready to steal London’s indie-pop throne. One of this year’s most talked about buzz-bands, the Big Moon (formerly The Moon) have managed to grace DIY’s Class of 2016, land big-time support slots with the likes of Mystery Jets, The Vaccines and Spring King, and release a trio of massive singles! From the quirky slacker-grunge tones of early single ‘Sucker’ to whirlwind pop-rock anthem ‘Silent Move Susie’, these girls sure do know how to write a banger!

Debuting as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record’ this Wednesday, the girl-gang’s latest single, crowd-pleaser ‘Formidable’ is less in-your-face than previous tunes. The song opens in a trickling, mellow lull of guitars, matched by Juliette Jackson’s woozy new romantic vocals (Lines like “Love you’ve got an island to sink/Better leave the boat capsizing” are bloody adorable). The track opens up after a minute or so into a HUGE sway-your-arms chorus, accompanied by grand guitar chimes and lofty “Ooohs”

Not only this, but the quartet also unveiled their anticipated debut LP, ‘Love In The 4th Dimension”, due out on April 7th 2017. Speaking about the album, frontwoman Jackson says “We’ve been playing these songs for two years now, and it’s a dream come true to finally immortalize them on record…”. Now embarking on their first US venture supporting The Japanese House, I highly recommend hitting these guys up on Spotify, you’ll be hearing a lot about them in 2017.
