Yung Lean drops surprise mixtape, ‘Frost God’

Swedish rapper Yung Lean has surprise-released a brand new mix tape, called Frost God. The 8-track triumph is off the back of his 2016 sophomore LP Warlord and features the likes of A$AP Ferg, Shlohmo and Bladee. The mixtape is Yung Lean’s first release of material since Warlord came out all the way back in February.

Highlights include the melancholic “Hennessy & Sailor Moon” ft. Bladee, complete with it’s lonely party music video that came out a few weeks ago. Closely reflective “Cashin” ft. Adamn Killa, of course “Crystal City” with the Traplord himself, A$AP Ferg and “Hop Out” with Norwegian rapper Luckaleannn being some of Lean’s best material to date.

As the title may suggest, it’s jam packed with icy beats and even more glacial synths.  Frost God is an introspective masterpiece, with Lean consistently aiming to climb higher and higher. The artwork has a bit of a Jason Vorhees meets Jack Nicholson at the end of ‘The Shining’ vibe going on.
