There’s a emerging energy under the introducing radar and with this four piece from Bexleyheath having already been featured in BBC Introducing Kent, they’re definitely going in there right direction. Their huge new track ‘Speak and Spell’ gives us reassurance of a huge road ahead for Glass Peaks.
A few heavy influences from the likes of Foals and White Lies have definitely given this band a driving force behind their strong and somewhat seductive sound of guitar riff-y, drum based tracks. Which definitely booms through, particularly later in ‘Speak and Spell’ you are overcome by Glass Peaks’ already somewhat signature theme of melancholy.
Though their newly found dive into deeper dark sounds can be heard through their new track, by no means should we forget the first we heard of ‘Your Eyes’. They’ve released both powerful examples as a start in their music library and you shouldn’t hesitate to add it to yours.
‘Speak and Spell’ has been dropped at the perfect time, early in 2017 allowing them time to grow greater followers throughout the year. Most importantly perhaps that they’re participating in Independent Venue Week with a party at the Rocksteady where if you go along you’ll be supporting what it is all about really, Independent music. As an indulging introduction to your Indie Venue Week, give their track a listen now.
