Superfood finally return with ‘Double Dutch’, the first single from their upcoming album

Birmingham band Superfood have splashed back onto the scene with a fresh new track, and a signing to Dirty Hit Records (home to the likes of The 1975 and Wolf Alice).

Feast your ears on ‘Double Dutch’ :

The new slice from the bowl of Superfood is a spectacular return, peppered with samples and synths likewise to that of the Stranger Things soundtrack, the show gets the Superfood seal of approval! The boys take a step away from the glimmering,  Blur ‘Leisure’ era sound of their 2014 debut ‘Don’t Say That’ and adopt a more shimmering, day dream evoking ambience.

The track takes Superfood in a new, exciting direction that implies their long awaited second (and yet to be titled) album coming this year is bound to be something special, as the band take a much more atmospheric and anthemic approach that separates them from the rest.

The band (now a double act of frontman Dom Ganderton and Ryan Malcolm) stated that the album was born during a period of time where the guys had “no money, no label and wanted to give up several times”.

The band are to headline Dirty Hit’s first ever tour throughout March, alongside label mates Pale Waves and King Nun, brand new tunes are bound to pop up all over the shop from all three bands!
