CABBAGE and the premiere of their great newbie Gibraltar Ape

Roaring and riot making Manchester five piece cabbage have released new track Gibraltar Ape.
With a massive year ahead of them due to support slots with massive fellow bands of Manchester (Blossoms, Courteeners, Charlatans!) they’ve released another classic piece of cabbage chaos to warm us all up for what is definitely going to be their summer.

We’re used to hearing the overpowering accent of the band’s origin along with fast paced politically empowered punk-y guitar. It’s not gone. We know for sure from their recently released EP including the likes of ‘Tell Me Lies About Manchester’.
But instead on this new track particularly, CABBAGE have presented us with a brilliantly broad bass line intertwined with churns of guitar. As ever the vocals stray over perfectly but in a strained sort of way for this tune which, works perfectly.
Lyrically and musically this track is top and we’re able to see CABBAGE from a steadier angle perhaps.
Their able to write about what’s real and keep it real by doing what they do best, producing dangerous, delightful and dynamic tunes.
Gibraltar Ape is another example that CABBAGE definitely do not restrict themselves.
All these nutrients of CABBAGE can be absorbed at one of their gigs whilst soaking up the sweat and shouting of everyone else:
CABBAGE’s headline tour has completely sold out but if you’re lucky enough you can snatch tickets for three extremely extra dates on sale Friday:

London Scala – 29th June
Birmingham Institute3 – 30th June
Manchester 02 Ritz -1st July

Here are some snaps i managed to get of them during their incredible show at Cardiff Globe last Wednesday!
