2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. The gang is back and everyone can’t contain their excitement. After months and months (no exaggeration) of constant teases and YEARS of waiting, Gorillaz have finally announced details of their upcoming album.
Cast your minds back to September, the Damon Albarn fronted project created an Instagram account, and since then they have been documenting the events of the bands four characters, sharing their stories. They have also been documenting a timeline of the band, stretching from their beginnings in 2000, up until today.

In January, we got the moment we’ve been waiting for. A new track called ‘Hallelujah Money’ featuring Benjamin Clementine was released alongside a creepy ass music video.
It wasn’t until yesturday (March 22nd) that the band announced that new music would be played on BBC Radio 1 at 7:30, and today, the band revealed on their instagram that their new album will be called ‘Humanz’ and it will be released on April 28th. Furthermore, the band also announced the list of collaborations which will be featured on the album. Artists included on the all-star lineup include Mavis Staples, Vince Staples, Danny Brown, Jenny Beth (Savages), De La Soul, Pusha T, Kelela, Kali Uchis, D.R.A.M, Popcaan, Kilo Kish, Zebra Katz, Anthony Hamilton and Peven Everett.
To add to this, 4 new track titles were somehow leaked on music streaming site Tidal, however they were un-playerble.
Damon Albarn will be live on BBC Radio 1 later this evening to announce the tracks and premier them live on Radio 1. This is something you don’t want to miss.
