The Fused are back with eccentric new single ‘Take It Or Leave Me’ along with a gig announcement

Local lads ‘The Fused’:

Ellis Acton-Dyer
Ethan Poole
Ollie Dixon
Max Taylor

are back with their first single in 10 months and I’ve been lucky enough to have been sent it before it’s release! The single is titled ‘Take It Or Leave Me’ and has a B-side called ‘Familiar State’

‘Take It Or Leave Me’ is only nearly three minutes long, yet the song doesn’t appear to need any more time than that. In a positive way. The song begins with a thrilling build up into the clean guitar high line. The song has a exhilarating feeling to it, despite it being about the protagonist’s ‘flaws’.

The single’s B-side is five-minute long ‘Familiar State’. The track’s intro reminds me vaguely of a rift that could have been on a Nirvana record. ‘Familiar State’ has a more relaxed vibe to it than ‘Take It Or Leave Me’ (as B-sides often do), although it’s tempo does rise towards the ending. The song highlights Action-Dyer’s vocal abilities, filled with emotion.

The Fused are set to play a gig in Cardiff’s The Buffalo on April 19th. Guitarist Ollie Dixon is always seen to be the life of the crowd at every gig he’s ever been to, hopefully the crowd will not fail with the absence of him in the pits for the stage. This will be the band’s first performance of the year so let’s make it a good one!

Amber, who smashed their show at Newport’s LePub three weeks ago, are set to be a support act. Along with Al Moses, who played at The Moon’s Stand Up To Cancer gig last week.

You can get tickets on doors for £2. That’s literally cheaper than a train ticket from Newport to Cardiff, so there’s no excuse to miss this. The Fused are lovely lads who would definitely love to pack the place out so make sure you’re there. Tell your mates and bring a crowd!
