Friday Finds: The Indigo Project release brand new single “Taste it”

Leeds’ own 5-piece indie rock band The Indigo Project have released their single ‘Taste It’ and they are one of our Friday Finds. In two years the band has already played Reading and Leeds festival and supported The Sherlocks and the DMAs among others.

The track is a punk pop anthem, from the peppy blues rock style vocals from frontman Joe Spink and its ebullient and buoyant musical style all the way to the sappy theme of a teenage tale of love and lust, the track is a must have for the summer playlists.

The track is perfect for a festival singalong, thanks to its pop style upbeat riffs and punk rock inspired hooks, the bridge feels like something from a 60’s rock band, making the band a unique part of the indie music scene.

Despite what the song is about the lyrics are quite cheerful and optimistic, and with its lively punk pop elements and an especially euphoric solo from guitarist Tony Francis the overall tone and theme of the song is brought together wonderfully.

For fans of Catfish and The Bottlemen, Circa Waves and VANT, The Indigo Project will quickly become your new favourite secret, and with 3 singles already released and a promising 2017 ahead, it won’t be long before they’ll be everyone’s favourite band.
