Spilt Milk Society create summer vibes with their new single ‘Tastes Like Summer’

Us lovely people over here at Let It Happen are very honoured to be premiering Spilt Milk Society’s new tune ‘She Tastes Like Summer’. It’s a nice feeling to be blessed with such a tranquil track which I feel I can unwind to. Spilt Milk Society have come from playing at house parties and building their online presence up by gaining over 16,000 monthly listeners (which is rather impressive!). The five-piece have a rather unique style and persona within their music, they have a funky rhythm and it takes a hold of you when you listen to their music. It’s rather infectious and I can’t seem to get enough of them and their catchy Indie-Rock.

As always, I love seeing smaller, genuine bands grow into striving artists who create amazing music, Spilt Milk Society are a band who are working and while writing they have held shows at some of the most greatest small venues such as The Sunflower Lounge, The 02 Institute and The Rainbow and I know they will go onto selling out bigger venues such as Brixton. I just know they will.

‘Tastes Like Summer’ itself has a very summery vibe to it, its practically made for the season filled with ice creams and happiness but the main thing that has struck me – it seems to have been influenced by Swim Deep with their wishy-washy indie tunes. In my opinion I think Swim Deep have created some of the greatest songs in the past few years and if Spilt Milk Society are going to take this direction too, I will be glad for them. The Midlands based band have created their own  groovy tunes. It’s fresh and it’s a squeaky clean new track which is perfect. The world of music better watch out.

The band have announced two shows which are coming up in the next couple of months:

Thursday 17th August – The Finsbury (London)

Monday 4th September – The Sunflower Lounge (Birmingham)
