Franz Ferdinand Unveil The Video To ‘Always Ascending’.

A few weeks ago, we reviewed ‘Always Ascending’, the track that marked the triumphant return of Franz Ferdinand. Fast forward to now and the band are happy to unveil the long awaited video to go alongside the single.

The video is striking, colourful and creative, much like the single itself and was created by the band themselves and the acclaimed French directors AB/CD/CD to create a hypnotically-charged visual to complement the single.

Talking about the video, Alex Kapranos said:
“We’re happy to now be Always Ascending on the screen, with ABCDCD capturing the mood of the song and likenesses of the band in perfect detail. This is pretty much a typical Sunday afternoon round at Franz Ferdinand’s flat.”

The band recently announced ‘Always Ascending’, their fifth album which was recorded at RAK Studios, London and Motorbass in Paris, with the help of French producer extraordinaire Philippe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix, The Beastie Boys). Nothing short of a rebirth, the album’s 10 songs are a triumphant recasting of the group, bursting with fresh ideas and vigorous sonic experimentation.

Franz Ferdinand are Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, Paul Thomson, Julian Corrie and Dino Bardot.

Below are the band’s upcoming tour dates where they’ll no doubt display the new record as well as firm fan favourites from over the years.
