Martha Ffion – We Make Do

Irish born singer songwriter Martha Ffion has announced her debut album “Sunday Best” is to be released in early 2018 on Turnstile Music, and to celebrate the news has released a single from the track titled “We Make Do

The lush melodic instrumentation of the song combined with detailed and uplifting lyrics create a beautiful snippet of a vision of everyday life realised through soft shakers, heavy piano melodies and relaxed acoustic guitars.

Along with this, the track feels like a breath of fresh air that’ll send your mind straight to the countryside, yet at the same times seems devoid of any specific time or place, and I think this is due to the relatable nature of the lyrics sang through such soft centered balladry so perfectly. The album was written entirely in Glasgow after moving away from a catholic upbringing in a small Irish town, making the track and (hopefully the album) feel ambitious and adventurous.

A March tour has already been announced, featuring popular venues such as Clwb Ifor Bach:

7th – Cardiff – D/s @ Clwb Ifor Bach

8th – London – Waiting Room

9th – Edinburgh – Sneaky Pete’s

10th – Glasgow – Mono

11th – Newcastle – Think Tank
