Vaguely new to the scene, the four piece band from Ayslebury, Blushes, will present their diversely- influenced track ‘Honey’ on the 12th January of 2018. The band worked hard on the track and recorded it late September five months before its release. 2017 has been a significant year for them, as they have released their debut EP ‘Private Viewing’ and have been approached by platforms such as BBC Radio 1 Phil Taggart to play their previous track ‘To The Bone’.
Within their fourth track ‘Honey’, Blushes experimented with rather interesting instruments such as a frenetic tube drum or ‘octoban’ pattern to ‘emphasise the heart beating pulse of the track’. As well as this, the track also includes many prominent features, such as a nostalgic 80s/90s bassline and both male and female vocals. Tastes of their diverse influences such as RnB and Hip Hop are explicitly used, creating nothing but an outside-of-the-box track. Lyrically, ‘sweet’, ‘honey’ and ‘sugar coat’ create a dreamy-pop aura in track.
The best thing about the track is the fact I believe you couldn’t possibly place it in one genre.
The four-piece are set to play a series of gigs (listed below) and to start off the New Year with ‘Honey’, this will be only the start of Blushes.
