Amsterdam’s own queen of indie rock Pip Blom has released a brand new single titled “I think I’m In Love” along with an effects heavy music video recorded in between playing three festival shows in Groningen.
This new single perfectly captures the initial sound of the artist; it’s a loud, reverb heavy summer soaked track taking it’s listeners back to long days on seemingly endless sun cooked fields surrounded by 80’s rock and barbeque, at least for me, anyway. The conflict between rattling hooks and needling guitar lines against sharp percussion form an almost calm, dare I say lofi atmosphere, the clean vocals add to this feeling, it’s undoubtedly an easy listen but carries a lot of depth if you want to really listen to it.
Yet another amazing track from Pip, after a huge 2017 seeing the release of “Babies are a lie” and “School” which gave the artist thousands of radio plays. She also soared in popularity along with playing a UK festival run and having her own headline tour, an amazing single so early in the year seems promising for more great things to come, we already know that a Radio 1 session with Huw Stephens is coming soon, and with a long string of dates supporting Franz Ferdinand in Holland along with The Breeders on a European tour, it’s clear Pip Blom are in for an explosive 2018.
