Manchester new boys Octopus have finally shared their debut single, ‘Kaleidoscope’.
The band have been cruising around Manchester over the past year playing some high profile shows within the city and catching a ray of attention from the cities music fans. They caught our eye a few months ago when supporting Johnny Black at Aatma, providing an energetic and loud performance which certainly grabbed everyones attention.
With their debut single, their smoothed Britpop swagger shows us what this band are really capable. A catchy and memorable chorus, brilliantly crafted chord progressions and a bass line that is equally brilliant shows us the true amount of talent these boys have. Their sound is reminiscent of Oasis yes, but it brings in elements of other bands such as shoe gazers Ride, The Charlatans and more in that jangly brit pop scene.
With an increasing roster of musical talent within Manchester, Octopus’ sound and ability is some of the best around within the city. We can only expect that these boys will go far.
Octopus will be supporting Let It Happen favourites Sock at Band on the Wall, Manchester on August 29th. Tickets are FREE so head on down for a quality night of music.
